Gracin did well on his 6 month well baby check up, however he didn't grow at his usual rate. Doc said slow down on the solids and amp up the milk. Since G gets the majority of his nutrients from Mommy milk it is better for him to eat that instead of solids. But Gracin continues to be a very social eater, if we are eating and he is not, he looks at you like "umm, where's mine?" or "what you got there?" It is very cute.
So as you can tell from the title, G is in Swim lessons! It is soooooooo cute. It is a Mommy, Daddy and Me swim class. They do them in the therapy pool, so it is really warm. Last week was our first lesson and he learned about floating on his back and his tummy, with assistance of coarse. We also tried to teach him to blow bubbles in the water, he mostly likes to watch us do that. :) At the end we sang "Wheels on the Bus" and did some swim moves to go along.
This week was a different story. Daddy had to go to work so it was up to Mommy to get everyone to swim lessons. Well, she nearly missed the boat. Gracin was taking a nap, as was Mommy, when....."What did I have to do today? OH!!! SWIM LESSONS! WHAT TIME IS IT?"
10:30!!! Oh no! Swim lessons start at 10:30. So I quickly got my self ready to go and pack the bag. G woke up just in time for me to rip of his clothes, put on a swim diaper, put on his swim trunks and shirt, stuff the other clothes into the bag and head for the car. We go there for the last 12 mins of the class. The class is only 30 min, so some swim lesson is better than no swim lesson. We learned that the edge of the pool is Safety. We started on our tummies (with Mommy on the side hold baby) and swam 1...2...3...flip me over (on to back) then 1...2...3...flip me over (on to tummy) across the pool. Once we were close to the edge we had to bed ready to reach for the edge for Safety. It was a good thing we made it. We had a quick crash coarse to catch up the practiced until the class was over. Well, we went a little over since there was a mob by our stuff, so we waited it out and practiced some more. The class after us didn't mind at all.....it was a water aerobics class for Grandmas and Grandpas...G's favorite. The ladies were definitely checking him out. He flashed his best smiles...like a true flirt. :)
Once we got changed and back home, we had lunch and Gracin declared he was ready for another nap. Gosh, Swimming does make you hungry and tired. Once G wakes up and Daddy gets home, I am sure he will be excited to show Daddy what he learned today!
