Gracin's first New Year's was a blast. It was a quaint party with a young crowd. The party got started at 5pm and finished up at about 9pm. The "midnight" count down was a 8pm. We invited our friends Alyssa, Will and their munchkins, Madison (2 years old) and Mason (4mounths old). Gama and Gampa traveled all the way from Parker. :) Gracin's cousins, Tommy and Riah, and Aunt Celeste also happened to be visiting from UT, so they joined the festivities as well. Dinner was first. Easy Lasagna made by myself and Baked Mac-and-Cheese made by Alyssa. We also had Teddy Grahams and Gold Fish. Plenty of pop, juice boxes and water provided refreshment. While the adults sat around and talked the kiddos were entertained with Mega Blocks, Fatty Crayons and Huge pieces of paper to draw on. Mason and Gracin had a good time babbling and checking out "the other baby". (pictured above)
Then (by suggestion of Aunty Kym) the best activity commenced. The kiddies were gathered to the table and sleeves were rolled up. Shaving cream was spread across the table and little animals lay hidden in the globs. Yeah for Safari!

By the end of messy play the youngest guest and the youngest host were ready for bed time. So jammies on and all bundled, the boys (Mason and Gracin) shared the crib. They looked like two little pea pods. What good buddies! (again pictured above)
The "older" guests then adorned themselves with hats, glasses, and beads. With clackers and confetti in hand, all proceeded outside to commence the count down. I am sure the neighbors thought the count down and the noise the followed a bit premature. :) But really what kid under the age of 8 will really stay up until 12am? None that I know of, they usually pass out long before and miss the best part. So I made sure they got their own count down, so it was no big deal if they crashed.
After freezing our buns, we all came back into the warm. Riah, Tommy and Maddy all changed into their jammies and were ready for their drives home. I wanted to join the pajama party but resisted seeing as though I would be the only adult sporting the PJ look.
The party wore down and everyone packed into their respective cars.
Our front yard is still full of sparkle confetti and will probably never be the same. :)
